Hauraki Rail Trail

The Hauraki Rail Trail is a two day ride but offers shorter options too and is accessible from Thames, Paeroa, Waihi, or Te Aroha. The trail follows the path of two historical rail lines.

It is an easy grade ride, perfect for families and beginners, and can be cycled all year round.

As the Coromandel Peninsula is so well positioned to cities such as Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga, the Hauraki Rail Trail is ideal for a weekend ride.

Accommodation and eatery options abound along the whole trail.
